Carteret County is an amazing place, full of beauty and history. Here, the sand is washed by the sea, the sea meets the sky and a strand of jewel-like islands lie between the sea and the salt marshes on the sounds. Fishermen haul in their catch from the salt water, wild ponies roam free on unihabited islands, the historic town of Beaufort is graced with houses older than the Declaration of Independence, and nearby, surfers ride the waves of Mother Ocean. Beauty is everywhere to be found.

I'm grateful to God that I live here.
